What bites harder than a Gila monster, burns worse than an Eastern Diamondback, and is as hot as an Inland Taipan? The Carolina Reaper hot pepper of course! What does this have to do with our Gila monsters? Well, I grow a few hot peppers, herbs, and tomatoes, all fed by Gila poo. I can neither confirm nor deny that our hot peppers are any hotter from this, but I can say that the Carolina Reaper is beyond my experience level and is given to friends and local chefs that can make better use of it. Now our Datil peppers which are starting to fruit are a whole other story; those are selfishly kept here for all manner of cookery including a delicious hot sauce I’ve been perfecting for a few years:)
